SANTA CAROLINA     (PARADISE ISLAND)

We will take you to Santa Carolina with one of our catamarans. We usually leave about 7:30 am for a ride that takes approx. 35 minutes. ​We head out and at times encounter shy turtles or the elusive dolphins and dugongs in the crystal clear waters. On arrival, we normally have a first stop on the southern side of the island to go snorkel in the corals. Once filled with fun we move the boat to the beach from where one can explore the island and the old abandoned hotel and enjoy the warm sun and turquoise waters. we will organise a big gazebo to hide from the sun and setup some “steras” and beach chairs for your enjoyment. There are big braais on the island. There is usually time to do a final dive before heading back home around 4pm.

BARTOLOMEU DIAS - BD

This beautiful point is 30 km away, heading North from Casa Catalina, it can be accessed on the beach with a 4x4 and a beach permit. The timing will depend on the tides.  The drive on the beach is unique amongst the fishermen pulling nets and small “jangardas” and offering their catch, being prawns, lobster or an amazing variety of fish.

Once there you can snorkel the magic waters of the lagoon and explore the mangrove swamps with one of the locals dhows, or perhaps just lie and soak up the sun on the powder soft beach.  The Tikki bar offers you some good meals and a delicious R&R with  stunning views.
